In 2012, Dennis joined the Goodwill Southern California Work Activity Program through the Inland Empire’s Regional Center. At first, he was quiet and reserved. Soon thereafter, Dennis’ confidence grew through hard work — sorting books, dismantling electronics, and even more when he received his forklift certification.

In 2018, Dennis transitioned to the Goodwill Southern California Inland Empire Clearance Center as an Associate. He quickly impressed his team with his reliability and independence. Then, came 2020, the global pandemic, a layoff, and the heartbreaking loss of his mother. However, Dennis didn’t give up.

Dennis maintained his own apartment, bought a car, and by late 2020, secured a full-time job as Goodwill Southern California’s rounds and maintenance. Today, Dennis stands as a powerful example of perseverance, personal growth, and self-sufficiency.

Today, Dennis is thriving as the Grounds Maintenance Worker & Driver and has been with Goodwill So Cal for 13 years.
